How the mineral wool absorbs noise.

In case of the mounted soft-partition with the vertical wood or metal profiles the acoustic insulation shall be secured only by the acoustic insulation board / cladding pannel which has air gaps. With regard to the difficult requirements and standards we must increase either the number of layers or enlarge the gap width. We herewith can increse also the partition thickness.

In addition, the thermal insulation material made from glass fibre which is inserted into the holes can provide superior acoustic insulation because by this means sound-waves can be reflected, refracted (or bent) and vibration of the boards /cladding pannels can be absorbed (created special effect of mass - spring - mass). Specific requirements for acoustic protection will be attained by using the glass insulation without the insertion of other boards (cladding pannels) or more expensive special board types.

Sound-wawes passing through the layer of insulation are continual reflected and refracted by the several thin fibres. Vibrations of the fibres change sound energy into mechanical energy.
